Reliability
Annual failure rate (AFR) is often used to check the reliability of storage devices and the AFR of SSD is about a rate of tenths of 1% while that of HDD spans up to 4 to 6%.
This process could potentially reduce the available space and reduce performance, but again the datacentre SSDs have capacitors to guarantee higher availability than that which is offered by the consumer models.
Lastly, Intel datacentre SSDs contain Power Loss Imminent (PLI) technology. These SSDs contain capacitors which, in the event of failure, continue to power the electrical circuits to complete any write cycles in progress and to prevent any data corruption.
Hybrid configurations and available options
DigitalBerg still gives options for either SSD or HDDs, as mechanical disks could still be considered cheaper and more durable. We therefore offer hybrid servers: double HDDs for enough storage space, which will enhance backup, log etc. storage and double SSDs for performance needs, which will enhance database, frequency, read data etc storage.
